Donald Anton Grill, 82, passed away from cancer in his home in Beverly Hills, Florida, Feb. 7, 2015, under the loving care of family and Hospice of Citrus County. Donald was born March14,1932,in Oak Park, Illinois, to the late Anton and Pauline Grill. His education included his Bachelors from University of Illinois. Upon graduation he married the late Roberta (Robbi) Russell, June 14, 1953. They began married life in Panama, as he was stationed there in the Army. They returned to Woodstock, Illinois for the birth of daughter, Toni Wandell (Jim) in 1956. In 1958, he began a sales career in Spokane, Washington and a second daughter, Dori Boelkens was born. A job transfer to Kansas City, Missouri, welcomed a third daughter, Holli Benthusen (Dave) in 1960. Throughout his life the career path resulted in many relocations, the most memories made in Cincinnati, Ohio Elgin, Illinois, Miami, Florida and Bonaire, Georgia. In 1994, Don and Robbi divorced. Don met Sally Dube which resulted in many happy years, including time spent with Sally's son, Gus Dube. He was an avid orchid grower, lover, seller, and received his Master Gardner's Certification in 2004.
He is survived by his grandchildren, Jenni and Eric (Kristin) Boelkens, Derek and Carli Benthusen, Megan, Jaci, and Lucas Wandell. He also has two great–grandchildren, Dominik and Oliver Boelkens.
The last years of his life were spent in Beverly Hills near family, including his special dog, Bella.
