Elizabeth M. Adams, known as “Betty” by all who loved, her joined the angels in heaven on Dec. 31, 2021. She was born on Jan. 6, 1927, the youngest daughter of Daniel and Sarah Rommel, and grew up in Rahway, N.J. before moving to Berwick PA. to raise her family, and finally retiring in Inverness, Florida.
She loved her family above all else and worked hard to be a good example for her children and grandchildren. Betty did not know a stranger; if you met her once, you were a lifelong friend and she treated you as family.
Her faith and sense of humor sustained her, and her values and work ethic were her strengths. Throughout her lifetime she was an avid baker, seamstress, and gardener. She could repair almost anything with a roll of twine or duct tape, and she always kept several high powered flashlights close at hand.
Betty worked at Bercon Industries in Berwick PA. and at the Citrus High School cafeteria in Inverness, Florida.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her five siblings:
Charles (Catherine) Rommel, Sarah (Ed) Jensen, Julia (Joseph) Somers, Daniel (Elaine) Rommel, and her identical twin sister Mary (Frank) Stueber.
She is survived by her six children: Jeffry (Lynn) Brown, Patricia (Patrick) Buddington,
Michele (Andy) Nott, Linda (Bruce) Adams, Chris Fester, and Rob Brown; and by her grandchildren: Alex Brown, Jessie Buddington, Veronica Buddington, Marli (Daniel) Dilocker, Alex (Ashley) Nott, Kristopher Jacobs, Jessica Jacobs, Dylan (Nikki) Adams, Ron (Bridget) Adams, Jason Fester, Sherrod Fischer, Kateri Eck, Kaylee Fischer; Great Grandchildren: Paris Pollard, Ryder Pollard, Paityn Pollard, Emma Dilocker, Ben Dilocker, Greyson Jacobs, Jessica Aten, Joshua Partridge, Addie Wilson, and Baby Boy Nott (due in May); as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held on Jan. 14, 2022 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Inverness, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to VITAS Hospice House Memorial Garden or online: VITAS Community Connectiion.org
