James E Sherman
James (Jim) Sherman, 79, of Homosassa, FL died on March 25, 2014 under the watchful care of Hospice of Citrus County in Inverness, FL. Jim was born in Poughkeepsie, NY in 1934. His IBM career of 35 years sent him from the Poughkeepsie plant to the Boulder, CO and Charlotte, NC plants where he held a middle management position.he was a veteran of the US Air Force serving time as an aircraft maintenance tech. Upon his retirement from IBM he enjoyed many activities: camping, hiking, hunting, horses and boating. Jim leaves behind many fond memories for his loving companion, Peg Franzen, also of Homosassa. He is survived by two children; a daughter, Jamie Truss (Mike) of Oxford, FL and a son, Dane Sherman (Bambi) of Union Grove, NC. A third child, Darin Sherman, passed on at the age of 41, thirteen years ago. Jim had 4 grandchildren; Jenna Lynn Childs, Michael Truss, Jesse Sherman and Tori Sherman. He enjoyed 2 great grandchildren, James Truss 3 yrs, and Addilyn Childs 11 months. Jim had many friends that enjoyed his quick wit and contagious smile, he was a regular patron of Sugarmill Restaurant of Homosassa's Breakfast Club and spent many years at Petes Pier in Crystal River working on his beloved wooden boat "Kita". By family request there will be no services. Donations would be welcome to Hospice of Citrus County and the Nature Coast. Arrangements by McGan Cremation Service LLC, Hernando, FL.
