LaVera Johncock

LaVera Johncock

Born March 15, 1915 in Delton, the daughter of Russell and Blanche (Clark) Mott.  Married Maurice W. Johncock, March 1, 1936, and he passed away August 17, 1999.  (from Mrs. Johcocks notes)  Worked for R Mott for a number of years, also Bob Barnes.  Worked for about a year at Hastings manufacturing.  In 1948 we ran the Delton Telephone office.  In 50'S we moved back to the farm that had been Maurice's grandmothers.  I went to work as county secretary for the Barry County Farm Bureau.   After a few years I went into State Civil Service and worked briefly at the Kalamazoo License Bureau and he State Hospital.  From there I transferred to State Technical Institute at Pine Lake Retiring in 1977 after 13 years.  Hobbies etc.  travel, reading,knitting gardening and flowers.  Was a cub scout leader 1955-1957.  Volunteered at Bernard Museum.  Belonged to and helped establish the Lily Lake Chapel in Frostproof, FL. Survived by:  sons;  Michael and Linda Johncock, Terry and Linda Johncock, son in law:  Dean Williams, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, preceded in death by parents, daughter in law; Maurine Williams, sister,  Reva Evans
