Lisbeth Linnea Logsdon née Johnson passed away in the loving care of family in her home in Floral City, Florida on Friday, October 5th 2023. She had been surprised to learn just two weeks prior that she had metastasized pancreatic cancer and opted to stay home with loving family attending to her in her last days.
Lisbeth was born in Jacobstad, Finland in 1940 to Lennart and Astrid Johnson joining her older sister Mariann. Lisbeth and her parents migrated to USA in 1959 while Marianne was in Sweden with her husband Calle Stén and their children Freddie, Svante and Wiveca. After seeking work in Michigan, they finally settled in northern New Jersey. Lisbeth soon met her husband John Logsdon and they married in 1962. They raised four children; Irene; Robert (d. 2012); Greg (d. 2001); and Dennis. Upon retiring, Lisbeth and John moved to Florida where they eventually spent five years building an impressive log cabin themselves and created a forest oasis to enjoy nature, flowers, birds, and butterflies as well as host beloved family gatherings. Dennis had a daughter, Nicole, in 2002. Dennis became engaged to Kathy Van Luvender and her children Austin and Skylar joined the family.
Lisbeth was known for her kind compassion, her humility, her expressions of truth and honesty and fairness which served her well in her 35-year career as an awarded certified nurses’ aide and with her family. She will be sorely missed by husband John, children Dennis (and his fiancée Kathy) and Irene; grandchildren Nicole, Austin and Skylar; and many more cousins, nieces and nephews and their offspring. She was pre-deceased by her parents Lennart and Astrid, her sister Marianne, and her sons Robert and Gregory. At this time, only a small immediate family service is planned. A larger memorial may be announced in time. The family requests no flowers and only well-wishes with gratitude.
