Melissa Rose Sandy

Melissa Rose Sandy, 61, of Inverness, Florida, passed peacefully at 2 am on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at her family home.
She was born on Tuesday, December 27, 1960 in Newark, Ohio, daughter of the late Earl Blake Loughman, Sr. and Elizabeth Halley (Stevens) Loughman.
Melissa fought a courageous battle with colon cancer, and with her strong will and faith in God, she is now free of pain and in the loving arms of angels.
She was a true country, “hometown,” girl at heart. Her talents were many, including baking, canning, sewing, quilting, painting, gardening and birdwatching. She also had a passion for collecting Fenton glassware. She was a generous soul who loved making wonderful, handmade gifts that she shared with so many of us; for that, we all will be so ever grateful and blessed. Melissa was as beautiful and sweet, as she was spunky and feisty. Her smile could light up a room. She was a very loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister.
She is survived by her loving family and admiring husband, Wes Sandy; her son, Matt Stevens; her brothers and sisters:
Blake Loughman, Kathy (Danny) Fekany, Halley (Steve)
Becker, Mary (Bo) Nutter, April (Eric) Pierson and Lance
Loughman; mother-in-law, Joan Sandy; sister-in-law, Pam
Wilson; brother-in-law, Martin Sandy; four grandchildren
with one more angel on the way; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Honoring Melissa’s wishes, she will be cremated without any services. Fly high “Missy Mouse,” you will be so dearly missed.
