Paul Michael Nottingham, a man of adventure, generosity, and unwavering spirit, bid farewell to this world on May 2nd, 2024, leaving behind a tapestry of cherished memories and a legacy of love that will endure through generations. Born on May 18th, 1954 and raised in Cobb Island, Maryland, Paul's life was a testament to the joy found in embracing each moment to its fullest.
Paul's journey was one marked by service, passion, and an unyielding zest for life. After a dedicated career with the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service in Montgomery County, Maryland, where he selflessly served his community for many years, Paul embarked on a well-deserved retirement in 1999. With the open road before him, Paul spent the next two decades reveling in the freedom of retired life, his trusty Harley Davidson carrying him on countless adventures.
In his retirement oasis of Florida, Paul found true happiness amidst the sun-drenched landscapes and endless possibilities. Whether cruising down scenic highways, attending a bluegrass concert under the stars, or sharing camaraderie (and beer) at the American Legion, Paul embraced every opportunity for adventure with a contagious enthusiasm that touched all who knew him.
Paul's passing leaves a void in the hearts of his loved ones that can never be filled. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Gertrude Nottingham, his brother, Tommy Nottingham, and his youngest son Jamie Nottingham. He is survived by his devoted wife, Julie Nottingham; his siblings, Gail Mullikin, Cecilia Logan, and Kathleen Perry; his children and their spouses, Ryan and Kara Nottingham, Shawn and Julie Craig, Ashley and Ryan Carroll, and Shane Craig; his cherished grandchildren, Hendrix, Gavin, Waylon, Alexis, and Axel; and his beloved black lab Squee (aka Dunkerson).
Paul's legacy of love, laughter, and adventure will live on in the hearts and memories of all who were fortunate enough to have known him. As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate the extraordinary life of a man who lived each day with passion and purpose, leaving behind a trail of joy and inspiration in his wake.
