Willie Lee Johnson Jr

Citrus Springs, Florida (Formerly of Patchogue, NY) - Willie L. Johnson Jr, 79, died January 26, 2019.  He was born October 1, 1939, in Portsmouth Virginia, son of Willie Lee Johnson Sr and Antoinette (Goodwin) Johnson. 

Willie received an honorable discharge from the United States Navy, Airman of the USS Forrestal CV-59.  He married the love of his life Joyce (Sizemore) Johnson where they were together for approximately 60 years, and raised their family in Long Island, NY.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother Edward W. Johnson.  Surviving his wife, Joyce of Citrus Springs, Fl, his son's Willie L. Johnson III his wife Penny of Monmouth Beach, NJ, David M. Johnson and his wife Lisa of Eastport, NY , and Ronald W. Johnson and his wife Jill from Holbrook, NY; seven grandchildren, Ronald Jr, Sara, Thomas, Danielle, Alex, Michael and Timothy, one brother Larry V. Johnson and his wife Denise of Port St. Lucie, Fl, many nieces and nephews.

Willie's passion was to spend quality time with his son's and grandchildren. He never said "No" when it came to quality fishing and hunting with them.  He was extremely competitive when it came to who's fish was the biggest and would always remind you of that. He always said “A quarter for the first keeper, a quarter for the biggest, and a quarter for the most”.  

Through the years he loved being with his dogs, Rusty, Emma, Lucy and Wayne.  Especially Emma, as she loved hanging around his neck and feet.  Nothing was more important than his family.
